2020 Fishing Reports

April 9th NW PA Fishing Report

Here in Pennsylvania, we are still able to fish through the Governor’s Stay-at-Home order since fishing is viewed as an approved outdoor activity and chance to gather food. But there are guidelines anglers are expected to follow; details in this Report. It’s a good thing we can fish because the spring bite is in full blossom in NW PA. Check it out, and Fish Local as the advisory says.

March 20th NW PA Fishing Report

With warmer-than-usual late winter weather, it may feel like spring is behind schedule because we can’t get out of the 30s and 40s. Actually, we are a tad ahead of schedule when you compare past fishing logs. We are on the cusp of fantastic spring fishing for warmwater species in NW PA. If the forecast holds, look for a significant increase in fish activity starting shortly March 25. In the meantime, get out steelhead fishing, perch fishing or pick a nice warm day for the very early crappie bite.

February 26th NW PA Fishing Report

Winter is waning and Spring is just weeks away. With mild winter in region, steelhead fishing and Allegheny River fishing has been very good. Ice fishing not so great. Might be the last slug of really cold weather this week to reinforce ice on smaller lakes to give hardwater anglers one last shot. Check it all out in this issue of NW PA Fishing Report.
