We can always count on November yielding
some outstanding open water fishing for
smallmouth bass, walleye, crappie and steel-
head. This November is no different. Water
temps are pretty much where they should be
for this time of year and fish finally are where
they should be in our lakes, streams and riv-
ers. However, with hunting season in full
swing and appearance of really cold weather,
the number of anglers on the water is greatly
reduced. Those who are out and about on
the water are likely enjoying some of the best
fishing of the entire year. For Thanksgiving
weekend, the best bites will be: steelhead in
Erie tributaries; smallmouth bass and walleye
on the Allegheny River; crappies and white
bass at Shenango Lake; and hopefully walleye
at Pymatuning. Dress warm, my friends, and
Erie Extreme filming in the cold. GO FISH!
