Fishing with Lefebre – Tips from Bassmaster Elite Angler Dave Lefebre
If inland lakes remain open into December and you
head out walleye fishing to Pymatuning, there is
one lure you will need for sure. A blade bait. It is
the only lure I have tied on my line. As you most
likely know, it is fished vertically with a lift and drop
action. For years I have used the old Heddon Sonars
and similar size blades. But recently I was intro-
duced to the Steel Shad. The Steel Shad is similar to
old school blade baits, but it features a larger pro-
file and a weight distribution that results in a very
tight vibration unlike other blades. That new vibration is getting a lot of attention from wall-
eyes. If you don’t have time this fall to get one and try it out, be sure you give it a test at ice out
for those early Pymie ‘Eyes. - Dave
