Gronaw states that Gamma PolyFlex lines are ideal for fishing smaller hair jigs that he routinely
uses for stream smallmouths as the water temperatures drop in the late fall. Both toughness

and sensitivity are needed to catch creek smallmouths and other gamefish, and Gamma fits the
bill perfectly. Line watching is important as strikes and "ticks" in the line are often all that will

indicate a bite. He prefers 4-pound test, as often a variety of sunfish, rock bass and other spe-

cies will "join the party". The giant fallfish was just a bonus on a day where he caught numerous
smallmouths that ran from 12 to 16 inches.
