September 25, NW PA Fishing Report
The calendar says fall. But the fish don’t know that. In NW PA, all species are still in transition. Although fish are all over the lake and river looking to settle in when cooler water arrives, right now it takes some extra effort to make good catches. In our region, the Lake Erie walleye bite is still on but not expected to last much longer and Allegheny smallmouth are fairly reliable transition bite – although it has been up and down. According to reliable reports, It looks like Shenango Lake is the hot place for crappies, largemouth & smallmouth bass, white bass and hybrid stripers right now.
