August issue of NW PA Fishing Report 8-15-24

A little cool down (back to normal temps) plus some fresh rain to raise lake levels a bit and break up the toxic algae blooms that have plagued numerous NW PA impounded waters. The Dog Days of Summer are looking pretty good right now as a strong walleye bite continues on Lake Erie, smallmouth bass are chowing down on the Allegheny River and French Creek, white bass are on major feeding frenzies on Shenango Lake and Pymatuning Lake, and the channel catfish slurp up everything during the day while flathead catfish dominate the night bite on Shenango River.
