FRENCH CREEK – Flowing through all four counties
Tom @ Myers Sportsman’s Connection; file 10-23: The creek walleye
bite of a week ago has slowed. With possible increase in flow from rain
this week, bite might pick up again.

inch pike on a chub from French Creek. (See photo)

CRAWFORD COUNTY
Pymatuning Lake
Norm @ Jamestown Marina; filed 10-23: Number of anglers is
very low right now. The Ohio DNR has been on the lake (including
PA waters) with traps checking the crappie population. They indi-
cated there are good numbers of small crappies so coming seasons
should be looking good. The ratio of black crappies to white crap-
pies in their survey thus far is roughly 10 to 1. We are preparing to
close for the season. This coming weekend will be our last boat
rental weekend and we close on October 31. (With the closure of
the Marina, the docks will be open for fishing on Nov 1.)
Dave @ Richter’s Sporting Goods; filed 10-23: I have had some positive reports on walleye
catches in the South End this past week. I am hearing that some guys are catching a few wall-
eyes on blade baits – but it takes some searching to find the right area. There was a 28 inch
