FRENCH CREEK – Flowing through all four counties

                                              th
Editor’s note: As of Sunday, Nov 4 , French Creek was as high as I’ve ever seen it in November.
This makes for very difficult if not impossible fishing. Tabitha at Myers Sportsman’s Connection
(next to French Creek in Saegertown) says her customers are rather dis-
tressed with all the high water in the Creek as well as Woodcock Creek
Lake. However, high dirty water apparently didn’t stop a couple anglers
from catching walleyes during the Hunter’s Full Moon.

Angler Al (Franklin); filed 11-3: My fishing buddy Corey Breene caught 15
walleyes while casting a black/silver Rapala X-Rap on French Creek re-
cently. He targeted them in and around shallow coves. He discovered a

slower retrieve worked best to entice them to bite. Most of them were
released; however he did keep a dandy 30-incher for the taxidermist. Corey’s 30” ‘eye

Dave @ Richter’s Bait & Tackle; filed 11-5: I’m hearing about some crappies and ‘gills being
taken off the Jamestown Marina Docks now that the boats are out and docks are open to fish-
ing. Not many anglers on the lake recently. Also reports of a few walleyes being taken off the
Causeway and at the Linesville Spillway. The River Outflow continues to produce walleye. I was
out yesterday with a buddy, but we only caught small walleyes, few crappies and catfish; we
even stayed to cast after dark.
