NW PA FISHING REPORT for November 23, 2016
This Report is brought to you by PA Great Lakes Region tourism with addi-
tional sponsorship from Wiegel Brothers Marine and Gamma Fishing Line.
We answer the question: “What’s biting in the lakes, stream and rivers of
Crawford, Erie, Mercer and Venango counties?”
FRENCH CREEK – Flowing through all four counties
Angler Al (Franklin); filed 11-16: For November, French Creek has
abnormally low. I trapped creek bait a few weeks back, I picked
them up and head down to my favorite eddy on Tuesday evening
to present them to the fish. I caught four northern pike by jigging
the creek bait on the back of a red & black floating jig head. (See

CRAWFORD COUNTY
Pymatuning Lake
Dave @ Richter’s Tackle Shop; filed 11-21: Beautiful weather this past week until the
weekend! On Sunday, I had one customer stop by to say he caught a mess of nice bluegills
off the docks at Jamestown Marina. He said the fish were biting like crazy in the snow
storm – but he was the only one on the docks! Earlier in week, I had reports of some of
the regulars finally catching legal size walleyes on blades during the day. Water tempera-
ture is where is should be. The coming Thanksgiving weekend may be a good for walleyes
– if the wind isn’t blowing too hard.
Dock fishing before the snow storm arrived
Blade baiting ‘eye RJ ‘s Pymie crappies
Becky @ Gateway Bait; filed 11-21: I only had a couple customers over the weekend and
they were heading to the steelhead creeks. No one was out on the lake this past weekend
due to the wind and snow. But before the storm, some guys were doing very well on
perch in the upper portion of the lake around the causeway.
