December 15th issue of the NW PA Fishing Report

image description

The weather remains unusually mild for mid-December in NW PA. Water is chilled, but no sign of ice, and very little rain or snow in forecast. Lots of steelhead in the Erie tributaries, but the flow is low and clear making strikes few and far between for most. Perch catches are decent in Presque Isle Bay. There is a good inland water walleye bit at Pymatuning Lake, Allegheny River, and Shenango River. Check out the article in this Report on Winter Open Water Opportunities in NW PA, or consider hiring a guide for some cold-water fishing. Best to everyone for the holidays. See you in 2024.
