Pymatuning Lake
Norm @ Jamestown Marina; filed 6-10: Boat rental anglers are
catching a lot of panfish, smallmouth bass, and some crappies oc-
casionally. Crappies are reportedly deep. My customers are hit
and miss on the walleyes, but all in all better than last year; drift-
ing with crawler harness in about 18 feet of water seems to be
the best presentation during the day. Lake temp at 10 feet is 70
degrees, which is cooler than normal for mid-June. Richter’s Bait photo
Dave @ Richter’s Bait; filed 6/10: It’s a different kind of June this
year. Some guys are killing the walleye while other guys are strik-
ing out. Daytime drifters aren’t doing so well. Trolling worm har-
nesses seems to be better than drifting with worm harness or
worm-tipped jig. There seems to be more suspended walleyes fol-
lowing the alewife schools during the day. Guys who are trying
something different are catching fish. Walleyes are showing up
suspended below baitfish at about 15 to 16 feet over deeper wa-
ter. Some fishermen are dropping a jig-n-worm or a jigging a So-
nar. If you are not tracking baitfish schools, you likely are not Richter’s Bait photo
catching walleye. The walleye night bite is still strong – if you can
