find good weeds. Walleyes are after the shallow alewives after
dark, so use a long minnow plug just below the surface. Crappies
are a mystery right now. Only an occasional angler seems to hap-
pen into a good group of crappies. Some claim they are deeper
than normal. Anglers are catching some great bass. And of course,
the catfish bite is coming on strong. (Photos)
Laurie @ Duck-n-Drake; filed 6/10: We had a very successful wall- Richter’s photo
eye tournament this past weekend with some big fish weighed in.
Crawler harnesses fished at 1.2 to 1.3 mph seemed to be the ticket.
All tournament fish came from South of the Causeway. We will be
hosting a Catfish Tournament on June 27; go to Duck-n-Drake Face-
book Page to learn details. Crappies are hard to find right now; no
one seems to be keyed on them – likely scattered. Bluegill spawn is
winding down, and pumpkinseeds are now on the beds. Perch are Duck n Drake photo
everywhere. (Photo)
Patty @ Poff’s Place; filed 6/10: Some anglers are still catching fish
– and some anglers are not. That’s the story of fishing. One custom-
er came in with some nice crappies – not seeing many crappies. An-
other customer limited out on walleye, but the two fellows in the
boat with him did not. The night fishing for walleye continues to be Duck n Drake photo
phenomenal this year. (Photo of big crappie)
Shon @ Espyville Marina; filed 6/10: Customers are picking up
some walleyes while drifting and slow trolling from boats. Others
guys are catching perch and some crappies from the Causeway.
Sara @ Linesville Marina; filed 6/10: Customers have been slam-
ming walleyes on crawler harnesses. Can’t believe the size of some Poff’s Place photo
of these fish! They are catching a few crappies in the stumps.
