Jeramie Joy; filed 6/7: Finally got the boat out on Lake Erie and had great success pulling
crawler harnesses and spoons. Most fish were caught at 39 feet, but we got some in 33
feet, too. With high lake level, the boat launch at Walnut Creek has water covering the
walkway to the docks so wear boots or water shoes. Best of luck! (Photo)

Scott Selles; filed 6/7: Here are a couple pics of Lake Erie
bronzebacks my son Rob and I caught on May 22 using Z-Man Tubes rigged on Ned
Heads in the Bay. Also caught a couple walleyes trolling Deep Walleye Bandits on the
              th
26 . Both trips had lots of action catching smallmouths. (Photos)
John Wilpula (Conneaut Lake); filed 5/23: I had the pleasure of treating my good friend
Bill Fikes from Alabama to his first Lake Erie/PIB fishing experience. The was to catch his
first smallmouth. Not only did we accomplish that but we managed to get a bonus wall-

eye well. Both walleye and bass were taken by dragging jig-n- plastic along the bottom.

               - 6/9: Keith from Dutch Fork Lures fished with Mike Carey and Rob Holman from
North West fishing Reports from Washington state. They boated 4 big lakers from
11 to 16 pounds, and countless walleyes on Ghost blades. Used 1 oz. inline weight
30 feet behind a planer board at ¼ mph over 30 feet of water.

               - 5/28: My daughter and I, along with Marin from MC Overhead Doors of
Cochranton, fished Erie west of Walnut Creek. We caught walleyes in 25 to 30 feet
of water on bottom bouncers and butterfly blades. They also used one-ounce in-
line weight with Ghost Blades 23 to 24 feet behind a planer board while running
1.5 mph. This is a really fun way to catch fish! Walleye bite is improving daily. My
                   daughter caught her PB walleye!
               - 5/28: Along with Anja Eshbaugh and Jason Hagg from Franklin, we fished Erie out
                                                 th
of Walnut Creek on the 24 . Shallow water was muddy, so we moved out to 20 to
25 feet and ran bouncers with Dutch Fork and Northland Butterfly blades; boated
10 walleyes and lost 8 at the boat. Fish wanted spinners super slow at this time of
year. Best color was Northland Gold when sun was out and silver when it was
                   cloudy. (Photos in the Livewell)
