Bo @ BC Bait Co.; filed 6/9: We managed a few largemouth bass in the
bays on the North End of Pymatuning over the weekend. Also got a
nice perch on Blue Terry Bug XL in three feet of water. We didn’t notice
many people catching fish on Saturday. Wind was not in our favor.
Stan Teitelbaum (Cleveland); filed 6/7: Catching this four-pound bass
and four other bass on May 31 made the trip from Cleveland worth-

while. Bass came from lay downs. I skipped a jig under branches to
catch the big one. All bass were caught on jig with ultra-vibe tip.

5/25: A quick trip to Pymatuning to beat
the Memorial Day crowd resulted in an
incidental musky catch and my PB Pymie
walleye to date. Both came on Flicker Wilpula’s surprise PY mucky catch

John Wilpula (Conneaut Lake); filed 6/10:
The last two weeks, I’ve been hitting Con-
neaut Lake every chance I get, usually
with one of my sons. Initially, I was catch-
ing largemouth and smallmouth bass
around the docks. But then the fish
moved to deep weeds and I used a jig
flipping presentation to catch them. On
the most recent outing this past week-
end, I could only catch bass from areas of
green weeds – not from the areas where

weeds had turned brown. It was extreme-
ly windy but we still managed to catch
bass. We boated 15 bass and probably had another half dozen get off. We caught all our
fish around bright green weeds and didn’t get any bass where the vegetation was
brown. See our photos. (Editor: brown dying weeds are the result of herbicide treat-
ment last week by lake association)
