That didn’t leave much time for walleye and crappies, but we did
mange 20 big slabs on white 2” tubes; crappies came from 22 feet
of water. We also got 2 keeper walleyes on silver Steelshads the
last evening in 8 to 10 feet of water. (See photos)

Mike @ Lake Erie Bait & Tackle; filed 11/19: It’s been good fishing for
perch in Marina Bay; also getting wall-
eyes in Marina Bay and off tip of South
Pier. Latest reports are lake perch are
moving into PIB as anglers on both the
North and South Piers are getting good
size ones. Saw a picture of nice pike
caught by customer from Misery Bay.
Steelheads are being caught in PIB also.

Jeff @ Poor Richards; filed 11/19: The snow melt into streams from this early snow storm put
the steelhead in shock; the bite fell off until they can acclimate. With stream levels falling and
getting clearer and no serious rain in forecast, we expect decent steelhead catches over
Thanksgiving Weekend using minnows and single eggs, or subtle-colored fly patterns. (See
photo on Steelhead Alley page)
Dan @ Elk Creek Sports; filed 11/19: Steelhead catches in the streams have slowed down from
what they were prior to the snowfall which chilled the water. Fish are not biting right now, but
should improve by Thanksgiving. No big rain or snow event to muddy the water. With many
people headed to deer camp the day after Thanksgiving, steelhead anglers should have plenty
of room on the streams – which we expect to be low and clear.
Lynne @ East End Angler; filed 11/19: Fishing has been decent with steel-
head in all the “Mile” streams. Best areas on 20 Mile and 12 Mile are the
lower reaches. We had a big brown trout brought in by a customer; see
photo. Anglers are catching walleyes off East Avenue Boat Launch using
emerald shiners below a lighted bobber. Perch are biting in Presque Isle
Bay – especially at Liberty and South Pier.
