MERCER COUNTY
Lake Wilhelm
Bo @ BC Baits; filed 11/19: The docks at Wilhelm Mari-
na are providing panfish action on crappies and perch.
My sons and I used Chartreuse Pickworms from BC Baits
to catch some crappies and perch this week. Other an-
glers were using minnows on jigs fished near the Bo’s boys on Wilhelm Marian Docks
bottom. (See photo)

Randy @ Fish West PA; filed 11/18: The water temps are dropping fast but fish are still fairly
active if you can put up with the rain and snow. Crappie, Pike, walleye and even a few bass have
been feeding. This won’t last long as the hard water should be coming soon. Steelheads have
been fairly active in the Erie tribs when you can find them. Tight lines and Happy Thanksgiving
to all! (See photo)
Rick Como (Sharpsville); filed 11/18: With the big change in the weather coupled with winter
lake drawdown on Shenango, my fishing has been limited the last couple weeks. My last two
trips before the snow were very good with white bass and stripers still hitting good on blade
baits; big channel cats were turned on as well. All species seemed to be in the final big feed
mode as water temp dropped into the low 40s. Crappies are being caught at all times of the day
both deep and shallow. But open water fishing is coming to a close. If the current weather
patterns continue, we should be ice fishing very soon.
Ken Smith (Sharon); filed 11/15: Crappie fishing has been very good on Shenango this Novem-
ber but given the current weather, the fall bite may be coming to an end. The last several times
out, I’ve got a mixed bag of crappies and white bass on Bobby Garland Baby Shads, with good
numbers of larger crappies. (See photos)
