Allegheny River
RJ Graham (Tionesta); filed 11/18: My buddy Chuckie Yale and I had a jaw
dropping day for smallmouths on November 17. Lost track of number of bass
we caught because it was constant action once we found the sweet spot. All
came on tubes. (See photos)
Dale @ Gamma Fishing; filed 11/14: I got out two days this week. The first
day I caught over 50 smallmouth and half a
dozen walleyes. I caught 30 smallmouths

from one eddy – all about same size of 2 to
3 pounds. Found some 3 to 4 pounders in
another current break down river. For the second trip, I got
ahold of Darl Black. The river level had dropped as well as
water temperature – from 42 to 40. Bite had slowed in the
areas I had been catching them; fish had shifted but we did-
n’t have a lot of time to find new location. Still we managed

around 15 smallmouth and several walleyes for a couple
hours of fishing. Fish came on Mike’s Custom Tackle Tube, Galida’s Grubz and hair jigs.
Mike’s Custom Tackle of Oil City has been making a big hit on the Middle
Allegheny this season on smallmouth and walleye. Mike makes a variety
of plastic baits in custom colors and lead head jigs. Dale Black has been
crushing the smallies lately with Mike’s 2-3/4 inch tube molded in a spe-
