ERIE COUNTY
Presque Isle Bay and Tributaries
Mike @ Lake Erie Bait and Tackle; filed 4/22: They have been
catching pike in Misery Bay and perch on the North and South
Piers. There was absolutely two awesome weeks of big perch
being caught in the Bay, but the early spawning perch are on
the way out of the Bay. However, we could have a second
wave of perch coming in to spawn. Bass are just starting to Jeff Knapp photo/PIB
filter into the Bay; smallmouth fishing will pick up shortly.

Kirk @ East End Angler; filed 4-22: Both 4 Mile and 20 Mile Creek
have been stocked and all the rest of the east side creeks still
have a few steelhead in them. Fishing off the South Pier has really
heated up; best time is early morning. In the Peninsula Marina
anglers are catching crappies, perch and bluegills. Also, crappies
in the Lagoons. Try fishing off Don John and Dobbins Landing for
2.31 pound perch
perch. Included a photo of a 2.31 lb. perch a customer caught. Al-
so included a picture of a couple of first-time perch anglers that I
pointed in the right direction when they stopped by the shop;
caught off South Pier. Lake Pleasant has been stocked again. They
are also catching crappies in the evening at Eaton Reservoir with
small golden shiners under a slip bobber. (See photos)

Richard @ Someday Isle Tackle; filed 4-22: Last
week was a rough one for fishing. Rain, wind and
muddy waters. We fished around Erie and Eaton
Reservoir. Erie put out a few perch and bluegills but
the water conditions were poor. Had a great time
Saturday night at Eaton. Perch, bluegill, pike and
bass for three hours straight. Some decent size fish,

too. Weather looks to be steadier this week and
with another school of perch just entering the Bay (contain some big males) another
spawn may be upon us – should make some great perch fishing. (See photos)
