Allegheny River
Pete Cartwright @ SmalliesontheYough.com; filed 5/17: Water conditions were perfect
for fishing on May 8th. We got into some nice smallmouths using a bunch of lures in-
cluding Rapala X Rap. These fish were fat and getting ready to spawn. We landed bass in
the 16 to 20-inch range all day long. (See photos below)

Mike McFadden @ Mike’s Custom Baits; filed 5/18: I caught a few walleyes on Saturday
and a 4-pound smallmouth. The river is still high but a beautiful color. (photo below)

Jeff Knapp @ Keystone Connection Guide Service; filed 5/20: We’ve had excellent ac-
tion on the middle Allegheny during the past two weeks, considering that it was unfish-
th
able for about a week during that time. On the 18 we had a great outing topped off
with a 20.5-inch/4.4-pound smallie and several nice ‘eyes. Getting them on Galida’s
Grubz, hair jigs, finesse jigs, spinnerbaits, soft swimbaits and flukes. (Photos below)
