RJ Graham, Tionesta; filed 5/5: Smallmouth bite in Bay is on. We caught
40 smallmouths on jerkbaits in 4 feet of water on Saturday. Not big
ones, but big time fun. (See photo)

Richard @ Someday Isle Tackle; filed 5/5: May 4 and 5 found the
Someday Isle Fishing Team looking for crappies at Chautauqua, but find-
ing a pile of perch instead. Not one to leave a good bobber bite, we re-
turned next day with a slightly different presentation with 1/16 oz
Shimmerling tipped with half a minnow and plastic grub. We kept small-
er fish at bay and caught more keepers. Weeds in 3 to 6 feet of water RJ Graham photo
was best depth with Melon, White and Pink the best plastic colors.
David Ohmer, Erie; filed 4/24: We got into some smallies in the Bay at
end of April. The big girls were still deep but will be moving to the flats
soon. Tubes were the ticket for coaxing bites. (See photo)

Vickie @ Bubba Mac’s (formerly Fergie’s Bait); filed 5/6: We are cur-
rently carrying bait – minnows, crawlers, maggots, meal worms, etc.
Store is being remodeled. Anglers are currently working the lake hard, SIT photo
and with a little luck, catching some nice panfish. Thank you for

Marcie @ Lake Wilhelm Marina; filed 5/6: We have boats for
rent; call ahead. Local angler Terry Jewell enjoyed success on large
crappies over the weekend. Fishing now near the dam, he took

home 15 crappies which came in at 22 pounds. His largest crappie
was 19 inches.
Bo @ BC Bait Co.; filed 5/6: Fishing at Wilhelm has been looking up.
Good number of crappies being reported from both ends of the lake.
The BC Bait Terry Bug on a 1/32-ounce jighead are producing. Terry
Bug also producing crappies at Pymatuning according to Robinson’s
Bait and at Lake Arthur. Trout still being caught in local streams. Had-
ley Worm in Bubblegum has been a very effective color. (See photo)
