Shenango Lake
Mike @ Consumer Direct Sports (CDS); filed 5/6: Crappies have been hitting pretty good
at Shenango Lake. I was over there during the weekend and caught a number of crappies
but most were small. My biggest was 1.3 pound. Fishing success should pick up if we can
            get some stable warm weather.

Randy @ Fish West PA; filed 5/5: With warmer weather and rising
water temps, Shenango fishing is hot! Almost all species have
moved into the shallows for pre-spawn and spawn/post spawn.
Crappies are hitting well in shallow brush and hybrid stripers are
active both shallow and on deep edges. We had an amazing week

and can’t wait to get back out this coming week! Tight lines all!

Rick Como, Sharpsville; filed 5/5: It’s crappie time on Shenango.
Water temperatures have finally hit close to 60 degrees and crap-
pie bite has been pretty good. Lots of fish are showing up in shal- Randy with Hybrid Striper
low water; we caught some very nice ones hitting the 15-
inch mark. Average size seems better than most years with

the 9-inch minimum size now in effect. Water level still
around two feet above normal but water clarity has im-
proved and that helps fishing for walleyes. We tried trolling
with worm harness and crankbaits but no ‘eye. Stripers
and white bass should turn on this coming week as the

lake level drops and water temp increases. Spring fishing is Rick with Shenango white crappies
always fun and exciting for the many different species that

inhabit this fantastic lake. (See photos)
