This year summer arrived with all the things
we don’t like about summer weather – ex-
treme heat, high humidity, massive thunder-
storms and micro bursts. Weather certainly
has played havoc with fishing in the last cou-
ple weeks. French Creek and the Allegheny
River repeatedly blown out, and both are still
high and muddy. Most inland lakes are high

and dirty, particularly the flood control im-
poundments. But the weather looks to im-
prove and hopefully most species will be
moving into full summer mode. However the
biggest news right now is the incredible wall-
eye bite going on in Lake Erie, with many limit
catches still coming from 30 to 40 feet so

even small boats can get out to them on calm
days. Shop owners are saying it’s the best
‘eye bite in years. Go Fish!
Someday Isle Tackle Fishing Team has been
exercising their Water Puppets on Lake Erie with
very positive results.
