Laurie @ Duck-n-Drake; filed 7/7: Rod Jones and Scott Burton caught
a couple nice walleyes the very first thing this morning trolling on the
South End of Pymatuning in 20 t0 22 feet of water. One fish was
caught on a crawler harness and the other on a plug. With the sum-
mer heat, its catfish time on the lake. A new catfish club NE Catfish
Addicts held their first tournament in early July and have a second
one planned in late July. (See photo)

Darl @ Fishing with Darl Black Guide Service; filed 7/7: I had Clark Ratkovich and his son out
on Pymie Saturday morning. Strong breezes came up making
crappie presentations in deep water difficult, but we managed a
handful of nice-size crappies. With the dirty water, larger &
brighter baits produced better, including a 14-inch black crappie

that came on a four-inch Galida’s Grubz in pearl chartreuse.
Crappies are still holding around deeper cover (10 to 16 feet) in
Pymie, but the schools may start roaming soon which makes
                                          them more difficult to pinpoint.

Marilyn Black (Cochranton); filed 7/5: On July 4 , assisted by State Park’s Linda Armstrong,
Darl and I conducted our annual Red, White and Bluegill fishing instruction for Fish Free Day at
Pymatuning Jamestown Campground. We had 17 participants – kids and adults. Following
brief instruction period, we had an hour long fishing contest for the biggest bluegill, pumpkin-

seed and crappies. (See photos below)
