Lynn @ East End Angler; filed 9-8: Fishing has been decent when anglers can get out on the
lake. Out North East way, walleyes are being caught on the inside of the Mountain. Also at
Shades Beach in 66 to 80 feet of water, off the Point in 72 to 80 feet of water. Crawler harnesses
and lures are both working. Some steelhead mixed in with ‘eyes; if going strictly for steelhead,
go with spoons or plugs. Perch have been at 62 to 65 feet of water off the Lighthouse, The Point
and Shorewood. Creeks have come up a bit but steelheads are just beginning to stage at creek
mouths. Anglers can cast spoons into the lake in the early morning with success until the sun
comes up. Shore fishing in the Bay has been up and down but the most popular spots are South

Pier, North Pier, East Pier and Border Dock for perch, bluegills and a few crappies. At Bull Dam,
anglers are catching northern pike. At Union City Dam, it is catfish, trout and walleye. Try Lake
Pleasant for trout and panfish. Don’t forget, Dave Lefebre of Erie Extreme TV show will be at
our shop for a Meet-and-Greet on Saturday, October 7 from 11:30 to 2:30; prize giveaways and
        special deals on lures.

Rich @ Erie Sports Store; filed 9-8: The attached picture is
from our perch catch on Wed 9-6-17. On left is John Wood
and on right is Jim Rzomp. The three of us caught these fish
in 66 feet of water north of Walnut. The perch fishing contin-
ues to be good when you can get out. It seems the best
perch fishing has been on the West side of Erie in 60 to 70
feet. I have heard some good reports out of North East in 65
to 70 feet. Also earlier in the month guys were getting limits
off the Condos in 60 feet. Walleye fishing remains outstand-

ing; on the West side off Walnut the depth is 60 to 70 feet. (See photo)

Jeramie Joy (Guys Mills); filed 9-10: I went up to Walnut Creek over the
weekend for steelhead. There were a few fish in the creek, but nothing to
get excited about. I ended up with 2 on a chrome Kastmaster. (See photo)

Dave Horvath (Edinboro); filed 9-10: Erie West report…weather per-
mitting, limit catches of walleye from 65 to 80 feet of water. Worm har-
nesses and spoons. Perch bite still off due to high winds. Hopefully things
                                                                                              Jeramie’s 1st 2017 chrome
will settle down. Some steelhead in the creek mouths – morning and
        evening best.

                          Paul Stewart (New Castle)
                          - 8-26: We went on a head boat going west to Walnut Creek area in 60

feet of water. Steady bite all evening. Majority of perch were jumbos. Ended
with over 50 perch between two of us.
                          - 9-9: Wanted to head out on the big lake Saturday for perch but the wind
would not cooperate, so we fished PIB and got some crappies! (See photo)
