P. 6
Tom Watral (Erie); filed 9-7: Large perch are hitting at Dobbins Landing in PIB
on lake minnows. Problem is limited places with lake minnows. East Ave Bait
has them; other places have golden shiners and perch won’t hit them as well
as Lake Erie shiners. Crappies are hitting in the marinas. Some large perch
around 15 inches reported in the lake west of Lighthouse. (See photo)

Jeff Barkley; filed 9-2: Fall Erie smallmouth bite is starting to pick up. I
caught this beauty in 20 feet of water on a Galdia’s Grubz in the Izzy color.

Edinboro Lake
Dave Horvath (Edinboro); filed 9-10: I had the
pleasure of meeting the young angler in the picture
and his brother this week at the lake. Alex is on his
Barkley photo
way to becoming a Bassmaster of Edinboro Lake.
Both boys were having a great time fishing; they caught a number of
panfish. Before the bad weather last week there were reports of perch,
crappie and nice bluegills being taken on Edinboro. (See photo) Horvath photo
MERCER COUNTY
Lake Wilhelm
Vickie @Fergie’s Bait & Tackle; filed 9-10: Lake temp is between 68 and 70 degrees. We have
had reports of panfish and crappies being caught between Launch 3 and I-79.
John @ Lake Wilhelm Marina; filed 9-10: We’ve seen a daily catch of fish over the weekend of
mixed bags of perch, catfish, crappie and bluegill – and an occasional walleye. Also reports that
bass are a little more active.
RJ Graham (Tionesta); filed 9-10: This past week I spent time
at Wilhelm practicing for a tournament held today. My buddy
th
and I took 6 place. The lake is fishing tough right now. There
were only 2 or 3 limits in the tourney, and it only took 11
pounds to win. However, earlier in the week I had a couple
good evenings; with Andrew Foys on Tuesday and Austin
Weaver on Thursday. We worked a Rat-L-Trap over a small
point with a stump on it. Both nights we caught some nice bass. But in tourney today, we caught
30 some largemouths off one point in the mid-depth of 4 to 7 feet, but most were short. No
bass deep and very few on the bank. It’s that super tough in between month. (See photos)
